Frequently Asked Questions

1. What should I expect on my first visit?

On your first visit the therapist will ask you questions about your medical history (including current medications), rehabilitation goals and about any physical challenges you face. She will then do a physical assessment that may include strength testing, balance testing, a gait (walking) analysis and any other tests she feels would be helpful to her treatment plan and for tracking your progress. Towards the end of this initial visit your therapist will discuss her findings and treatment recommendations with you.

2. What are the advantages of a visiting service?

Having the therapist come to your home allows her to see what the "real life" challenges are that you face every day. You will not have to be concerned about transportation issues such as traffic, long wait times, and parking or having to walk an uncertain distance into the clinic, this means that you can conserve you energy so you will be best able to get the maximum benefit from each session.

3. Is there an extra charge for having the therapist come to my home ?

The session rate includes travel time.

4. What should I wear for my treatment sessions?

We recommend that you wear clothing that is light and comfortable and easily rolled up. Shorts and a tank top are ideal.

5. If I am treated in my home will any necessary equipment be available?

Yes, the therapist will bring in any equipment she feels you will need during your therapy sessions.

6. How do I pay for my treatment session?

An invoice will be sent to you at the end of each month for the services you have received. On receipt of this invoice we ask that you send us a cheque by mail. If your injury is covered under a motor vehicle insurance policy the insurance company will be billed directly on your behalf and then any out standing balance will be invoiced to you. Our office manager is always willing and ready to help you with any account queries.

7. How long is a treatment session?

Each treatment session is approximately 1 hour long including time for the therapist to write a brief note on your chart.

8. Is there an additional cost for the initial assessment?

There is no additional cost for the initial assessment.
